Disneyland Summer Entertainment Cutbacks: What to Expect

Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California, is making some changes to its entertainment offerings as we head into the busy Fourth of July weekend and the peak of summer. Two shows have been canceled and two more will have reduced performances.

The park will be trimming schedules for the Warriors of Wakanda in Avengers Campus and the Citizens of Buena Vista Street. The Warriors of Wakanda show features the Black Panther’s bodyguards offering strength and skill training sessions, while the Citizens of Buena Vista Street include characters like a police officer, bike messenger, and the mayor in period costumes.

Both of these shows will have their performances reduced by 20% or more in July, which is typically one of the busiest vacation months of the year. Citizens of Buena Vista Street will not be offered on Thursdays and Fridays, while Warriors of Wakanda will not be offered on Sundays and Mondays.

These cutbacks come after the recent cancellation of “Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” in Avengers Campus and the Club Pixar dance shows during Pixar Fest at Disney California Adventure. According to reports, these changes are part of a series of entertainment cuts that are expected to come to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Disneyland officials have stated that the park continually evaluates its entertainment offerings and makes changes as needed. While the current schedule adjustments only go up to July 25, it’s possible that more changes could be on the horizon.

As we head into the summer months, visitors to Disney California Adventure should be aware that some of their favorite shows may have reduced performances or may not be offered on certain days. It’s always a good idea to check the entertainment calendar before your visit to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the magic that Disneyland has to offer.
