Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit Las Vegas on Friday after the first presidential debate of the 2024 election. This will be her fifth trip to Nevada this year as part of the Biden-Harris campaign’s efforts in the Silver State.

Throughout the week, the campaign has been organizing rallies and campaign events, with 23 debate watch parties taking place on Thursday night. Following the debate, there are plans for nearly two dozen canvass launches and campaign volunteer events over the weekend.

The upcoming debate on Thursday will feature President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump facing off in a 90-minute showdown starting at 6 p.m. To build momentum leading up to the debate, pre-debate rallies are scheduled for Wednesday in Las Vegas and Reno in collaboration with the AFL-CIO and Northern Nevada Building Trades. Members of the Southern Nevada Building Trades will also be distributing Biden-Harris yard signs in Las Vegas.

One of the key issues highlighted in campaign events leading up to the debate is access to abortion and reproductive care. U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently spoke at a rally in Las Vegas, emphasizing the threats posed by Trump to reproductive care and abortion access. In commemoration of the second anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, an event is planned for Monday with actress Connie Britton and a Texas OBGYN to discuss the potential impact of the upcoming election on reproductive care.

According to the Emerson College Polling/The Hill poll released on Thursday, Trump and Biden are statistically tied in Nevada. Out of the 1,000 registered voters surveyed, 45.5 percent expressed support for Trump, while 42.7 percent indicated support for Biden. With the poll’s margin of error at 3 percent, these results suggest a close race. Additionally, the poll revealed that 11.8 percent of voters remain undecided.

As Vice President Harris prepares to visit Las Vegas, the Biden-Harris campaign continues its efforts to engage with voters in Nevada and address key issues such as reproductive rights. Stay tuned for updates on the campaign’s activities and the latest developments in the 2024 election cycle.
