Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is increasing its involvement in the 2024 elections in Nevada, hoping to sway voters in the Silver State. Following President Joe Biden’s departure from the race and with polls showing a tightening race in Nevada, the Trump campaign is stepping up its efforts. This includes ramping up voter outreach, featuring appearances by Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), and a significant increase in pro-Trump advertising in the state.

While the campaign now has five offices open in Nevada, it still falls short compared to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign infrastructure, which has 14 offices statewide and over 100 full-time staffers. Despite the gap in resources, the Trump campaign is making strides to boost its presence in Nevada as the election draws near.

Legislative campaign ads are also gaining momentum in Nevada, with various PACs launching ads in support of Democratic and Republican candidates. Nevada Legislative Victory, a PAC primarily funded by Democratic state senators, released an ad targeting a Republican opponent of Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro (D-Las Vegas). Another PAC, New Day Nevada, started sending mailers supporting a Democratic candidate challenging a Republican incumbent in Henderson’s Senate District 5. Additionally, Cannizzaro’s campaign is set to launch a positive ad highlighting her background as a former prosecutor and her support for law enforcement.

In the U.S. Senate race in Nevada, Republicans are closing the ad-spending gap with Democrats, thanks to big ad buys from groups aligned with Senate GOP leadership. While both sides have around $2.5 million in ad spending booked for the week, Democratic-aligned groups have more reservations for ad buys after Labor Day. The National Republican Senatorial Committee and other Republican groups are stepping up their efforts to support their candidates in Nevada.

Super PACs are also making their mark in the election, with a new PAC called “Together for Nevada’s Future” running its first ad in support of GOP Senate candidate Sam Brown. On the Democratic side, the RNC has filed appeals in Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals regarding post-Election Day ballot counting and other election-related issues.

Despite the legal battles and political maneuvering, the race in Nevada is heating up as Election Day approaches. Both parties are vying for control in key races, with significant resources being poured into advertising and campaign efforts. The outcome of the election in Nevada could have far-reaching implications for the state and the country as a whole. Stay tuned for more updates as the election season unfolds.
