Station Casinos has received approval from Clark County officials to move forward with their expansion plans for Durango, which now include additional parking. The county commissioners, acting as the Zoning Commission, unanimously approved a “minor modification” request for phase two plans at the Station Casinos resort-casino. These plans were originally approved in October 2021 for the resort located at Durango Drive and the 215-Beltway in the southwest valley.

The modifications to phase two plans include the addition of a possible seven-story parking garage, situated south of the porte cochere near Maule Avenue, and an expanded casino floor to connect the original building to the new garage development. The updated plan proposes nearly 6,000 total parking spaces spread between two garages and surface lots.

A representative for Red Rock Resorts, the parent company of the Durango Casino & Resort, stated that these updates account for the anticipated parking demand in the future expansion of the resort. The new parking facilities would add around 2,200 spaces for future development.

While there is no set timeline for the commencement of Durango’s next phase, the company is pleased with the current success of the resort and grateful for the county commission’s approval of the modification to their development plans. Phase two plans, as previously approved, allow for the construction of an additional hotel tower and an expanded casino, potentially increasing the room count to 578 and the casino floor space to over 104,000 square feet. There are also plans for additional banquet hall space and entertainment options such as a movie theater, bowling center, and pool events center.

Durango Casino & Resort, which opened its doors in December, has quickly established itself in the locals market. Red Rock Resorts is looking to expand its presence in the valley with more properties in the pipeline, including the phased expansion of Durango.
