She was thrilled and celebrated her win with other players and the dealer, who were equally excited. However, when she provided her ID, the casino claimed she was trespassing due to an incident in 2015 when she was accused of “panhandling.”

According to Ezell, the 2015 incident was a misunderstanding, as she was actually arguing with her cousin over money. She had been banned from the casino temporarily but received no official notification about it. Despite this, she continued to visit the casino regularly and spend money there without any issues.

After her jackpot win, Ezell contacted the casino, and initially, an employee assured her that she would receive her winnings. However, the situation changed, and she was informed that the matter was beyond their control. Ezell expressed her frustration, stating that the casino was quick to take her money when she lost but unwilling to pay out when she won.

The MGM Grand Detroit has not provided any comments on the lawsuit yet, as they claim they have not been officially served with the lawsuit. Ezell believes that the casino’s refusal to pay her jackpot is unjust, and she is determined to fight for her winnings.
