A recent poll conducted among likely Nevada voters has revealed that Senator Jacky Rosen, a Democrat, maintains a significant 12 percentage point lead over her Republican opponent, Sam Brown. According to the poll results, Rosen garnered 51.7 percent of support, while Brown received 39.7 percent. A small percentage of respondents indicated support for other candidates, and some chose not to support any candidate at all.

It is worth noting that Rosen has been consistently ahead of Brown ever since he entered the Senate race. The poll, conducted by Republican political strategist Woodrow Johnston and pollster David Wolfson of Decipher Ai and Columbia University, represents one of Rosen’s strongest showings in this election cycle. The survey included 991 likely voters in Nevada and was conducted from Aug. 3-5 through SMS and text-to-web methods, with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

Additionally, the poll also indicated that Vice President Kamala Harris has been able to narrow the gap between herself and former President Donald Trump in Nevada, holding a 6 percentage point lead. Johnston and Wolfson, who have ties to the Republican party but were not commissioned for this poll, highlighted that Rosen’s substantial lead can be partially attributed to a significant difference in campaign spending and Trump’s decreasing popularity.

Johnston expressed surprise at the extent of Rosen’s lead, suggesting that Brown’s position may have been affected by his association with Trump, whose popularity has declined. He pointed out that voters often make their final decision closer to the election, indicating that there is still time for Brown and Trump to regain lost ground. Johnston speculated that Trump’s numbers could potentially rise following an upcoming sentencing on Sept. 18, as the former president tends to perform well under pressure.

As the campaign progresses, it will be interesting to see how both Rosen and Brown adapt their strategies to appeal to voters and capitalize on potential shifts in public opinion. With the election drawing near, the candidates will likely intensify their efforts to sway undecided voters and solidify their support base. Stay tuned for more updates on the Nevada Senate race as the candidates navigate the final stretch of the campaign trail.
