A tragic incident unfolded on June 28, when a Mesquite man, Grant Dick, was involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 15 near Las Vegas. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Dick, 55, lost his life two days later due to injuries sustained in the accident.

The sequence of events leading to the crash began when Dick’s Toyota Camry veered into the paved outside shoulder of the freeway, colliding with the back of a Buick Encore. This impact caused the Camry to spin clockwise and veer off the road into a desert area. Subsequently, the vehicle struck a metal sign, flipped over, and Dick, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car.

Following the ejection, the Camry came to a stop on its wheels and caught fire on the western side of I-15. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Dick tragically passed away on June 30 as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash. His untimely death has been recorded as the 46th fatality within the Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command’s jurisdiction this year.
