A 29-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday for allegedly committing domestic battery, as reported by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
The incident occurred at 9:21 p.m. when CCSO deputies responded to a residence following a domestic battery call. According to dispatch, the victim’s fiancé had pushed her into the bathtub.
Upon arrival, the deputies spoke with the couple, who had been drinking alcohol at Lake Tahoe before the argument ensued. The victim claimed that the man punched her in the face while they were driving back to Carson City.
The officer noticed that the woman’s upper lip was swollen and appeared to be cut. She explained that when they reached Carson City, the man stopped the car and asked her to exit the vehicle. She contacted a friend who picked her up and took her home.
The woman mentioned that upon arriving home, she took her child to the bathroom for a bath and to tend to her injured lip. She stated that her fiancé demanded his phone, which was in a beach bag inside the bathroom. When she refused to hand it over, he forced his way into the bathroom, causing her to fall into the bathtub. The man then left the room, laughing at her, prompting her to call for help.
The deputy noted that the bathroom door was broken and found wood on the floor, indicating recent damage. Photographs were taken of the door frame and the woman’s injuries before the man was questioned.
Although the man denied touching the woman and claimed that she was hitting him, the deputy did not observe any injuries on him. He was subsequently arrested for suspicion of domestic battery, with bail set at $3,137.
