Nevada Independent journalist Rocio Hernandez and Vegas PBS host Amber Dixon are eager to hear from Henderson residents about their thoughts on local news coverage, the upcoming 2024 election, and other current events in the city and state. This town hall event, taking place at the College of Southern Nevada’s Henderson campus, is part of the Nevada Democracy Project, an initiative aimed at promoting civic engagement and community conversations.

The Nevada Democracy Project has already hosted two successful community listening sessions, where Las Vegas residents discussed topics such as the impact of racism on urban development and the need for gun reform in the aftermath of the UNLV shooting. Now, it’s Henderson’s turn to share their perspectives.

Scheduled for Thursday, June 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the event will be held at CSN Henderson in the Student Union Ballrooms. For those unable to attend in person, the session will be livestreamed on Vegas PBS’ YouTube page, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the dialogue.

If you’re interested in joining the conversation, be sure to mark your calendar for this important event. Your voice matters, and this is your chance to make it heard. Let’s come together as a community to discuss the issues that impact us all.
